The Baxter Bungalow

Only a couple more days until we get married!!! Things are getting hectic, with picking things up and dropping things off, running errands here and there, going in for fittings and bridal shoots, and working out the final details, not to mention that we are both still working for the first half of the week. We are so excited to get married, but we will also be so relieved when it is finally over! Whenever we happen to have spare time, we try to just sit and relax together, or we go down and get our new apartment ready. Our little "Baxter Bungalow" (as my mom likes to call it) is really starting to come together and we will be so excited when we finally start living there, in our first home!

Our Dresser with our Build a Bears that we made for each other.

Our awesome bed and six pillows that we've gotten so far. Ha ha.

Part of our Kitchen.

Another part of the Kitchen.

Our Living room is still a little messy. We are still putting stuff together in there so this is just show you some of the decor we have put up so far.

Tada!! Hope you enjoyed your tour of The Baxter Bungalow!! Less than two days until we get married! Hope to see all our family and friends there!

A Very Busy Weekend

This weekend was extremely busy and eventful!

On Friday morning I was able to go through the temple. It was such a wonderful experience and I had been waiting for it for a long time now. I have always loved and marveled at the beauty of the Manti Temple and so that is where I chose to go. I am so grateful that my parents, my sisters Lacee and Sessely, and my brother Bridger were all able to come and support me as I went to the temple. Jon and his parents also came, as did my dear friend Emilee. It was so good to see them all there and have their support. I loved going through the temple! It was the best experience of my life so far and I'm especially grateful that Jon was able to be there with me.

Saturday was Christmas eve. I spent most of the afternoon playing Super Mario Brothers Wii with my brothers, Bridger and Brigham. Best. Game. Ever!!! We had so much fun and we laughed so hard at one another when we would make our characters do funny things on the screen.

Jon had to work but when he got off he came down to Orem and we enjoyed a wonderful program put on by my parents and then the whole family sang carols and ate lots of yummy food. Jon and I also decided to spoil one another by letting each other open our gifts on Christmas Eve. We had previously decided to get each other things from our registry or for our apartment since that would be the best way to spend our money right now. I got Jon two matching nightstands for our bedroom, and Jon got me a beautiful coffee table for the Living room. We were so excited about them, we assembled them all that very night! You will see them when we finish unpacking and get everything set up in our apartment and take pictures.

Sunday morning our family got to sing in church. We had been practicing for over a month and we did an awesome job if I do say so myself! The rest of the day was spent opening wonderful presents, eating yummy food, watching Christmas movies, and driving back and forth between our Orem and Riverton families. By the end of the day we were pretty exhausted! But we can't rest yet! There is still a lot to do before the wedding on Friday!!!

A Christmas Carol

Tonight we went to see A Christmas Carol at the Hale Center Theater in Orem to get away from the stress of getting ready for the wedding and getting ready for Christmas. And we LOVED it!!! We didn't know what to expect at first but we were very surprised at how well they did with the music and storyline. Jon was in drama all throughout high school so he especially enjoyed it. I'm trying to convince him to try out for one of their plays but he claims that he has retired from the theater for the time being. But we really did love the play. Our favorite part was when the ghost of Christmas Past was showing Scrooge the party at his old employer, Fezziwig's place, and there was dancing and singing, and Scrooge randomly picked up his robe and started dancing around with everyone else. We laughed so hard! We might make going to this musical a Christmas tradition for our family!

Graduation!

I graduated from BYU-Idaho this past April with a Bachelors in Art and an emphasis in Photography, and this past weekend Jon graduated from BYU-Idaho with a Bachelors in Sociology. I got to drive up to Rexburg with his parents to watch his graduation. It was really neat to see him walk since I had decided not to walk for my graduation. His parents were so sweet though. They still treated it like a double graduation for both Jon and I. They even made me put on Jon's robe and hat for a couple pictures. I felt a little silly since it wasn't really my graduation, but they insisted so I just went with it. I'm so proud of Jon! He has worked so hard this semester and he really earned that diploma! And I'm so glad that both of us were able to graduate before we got married!

Jon Getting his Diploma

I love this picture of Jon with his brother Scott and their parents because Scott and Jon were squeezing their mom between them so everyone was laughing

Leaving the Graduation

Me wearing Jon's robe and hat. And yes, Jon needed a haircut.

Since it was probably the last time we would ever go to Rexburg, Jon and I took pictures in front of the places where we first met and where we had our first date.

This is where we had our first date--Da Pineapple Grill

This is where we first met--in the Taylor Building, working as early morning custodians. :)

Engagement Pictures

We got our engagement pictures taken back in October when it was still nice and pretty outside with all the fall leaves. I'm so glad it wasn't as cold then as it is now so there weren't any teeth chattering pictures! Tell us which numbers you like best!
