Autumn Time

As usual, life in the Baxter home has been a little hectic, but happy. For the past month we have been dieting and exercising a lot, and we are already very pleased with the results we are getting. We could probably write a whole new post on how that has been going.

I know we've said it before, but especially now at harvest time we really feel that our first garden was a huge success and we are quite proud of it. I have already shown you pictures of the corn, cucumbers, and a pumpkin, but we also got lucky and unintentionally grew a few carrots too! They didn't get very big, but we ate them just the same and they were delicious. We also got a couple of cantaloupes and we now have 8 pumpkins growing! We are going to wait just a little longer before we do the "unveiling of the pumpkins," but for now, here are the cantaloupe and carrots:

So Proud!

With my new work schedule I feel like I have had a little more time to spare during the evenings and so I decided to actually make some of the things I have been wanting to make but never got around to (mostly Pintrest stuff--gotta love that website). Here's what I've made so far:

I've also been doing a few photo shoots here and there for people, which I absolutely love! Jon has been busy working on Grad school applications and he is almost done.

Work work work

He has also been helping me a lot with the garden. Today he pulled out most of the corn stalks! He has also been reading a lot lately. We have been to the library several times because he just goes through books so fast!

I don't remember if I mentioned this before, but Otis died a few months ago. We aren't sure why. Maybe Milo glared at him until he finally dropped dead. Anyway, lately we have been tapping Milo's bowl a lot because he likes to play dead. He loves to swim under the rocks at the base of his plant and just lay there. It's actually pretty funny because it looks like the rock is smashing him to death but then we tap the bowl and he freaks out and comes up from under the rock.

And last but not least, we are getting really excited for Halloween, especially now that we have both of our costumes ready! Can you guess what we are going to be?

(P.S. If I've already told you, don't tell!)

Labor Day Fun

This year for Labor Day Jon had the day off and my boss sent me home early since it was so slow, so we made some last minute plans with a few family members for a little barbecue! Here are some pictures we took of the family, food, skateboarding and long boarding, and nature from that evening:

Hope everyone had as fun of a Labor Day as we did!

A Sunday Drive

A week ago we went for a little Sunday Drive to watch the sunset. We checked up on the progress of the new Provo Temple. It's not a very good picture, we just took it from the street as we drove past...

Isn't it weird they took the cones off the top?

And we saw a few deer as we got closer to the mountains

In case you haven't noticed, we really love sunsets. :)
