I know we've said it before, but especially now at harvest time we really feel that our first garden was a huge success and we are quite proud of it. I have already shown you pictures of the corn, cucumbers, and a pumpkin, but we also got lucky and unintentionally grew a few carrots too! They didn't get very big, but we ate them just the same and they were delicious. We also got a couple of cantaloupes and we now have 8 pumpkins growing! We are going to wait just a little longer before we do the "unveiling of the pumpkins," but for now, here are the cantaloupe and carrots:
With my new work schedule I feel like I have had a little more time to spare during the evenings and so I decided to actually make some of the things I have been wanting to make but never got around to (mostly Pintrest stuff--gotta love that website). Here's what I've made so far:
I've also been doing a few photo shoots here and there for people, which I absolutely love! Jon has been busy working on Grad school applications and he is almost done.
He has also been helping me a lot with the garden. Today he pulled out most of the corn stalks! He has also been reading a lot lately. We have been to the library several times because he just goes through books so fast!
I don't remember if I mentioned this before, but Otis died a few months ago. We aren't sure why. Maybe Milo glared at him until he finally dropped dead. Anyway, lately we have been tapping Milo's bowl a lot because he likes to play dead. He loves to swim under the rocks at the base of his plant and just lay there. It's actually pretty funny because it looks like the rock is smashing him to death but then we tap the bowl and he freaks out and comes up from under the rock.
And last but not least, we are getting really excited for Halloween, especially now that we have both of our costumes ready! Can you guess what we are going to be?
(P.S. If I've already told you, don't tell!)

Ariel and Prince Eric? Or flounder?
ReplyDeleteThe carrots look big in the picture until I see you holding them. Then they're puny. Haha.
