Mother's Day 2015

I know I'm a little late posting this (as is becoming the usual now), but I really had a great Mother's Day this year! I count this year as my first, real, official Mother's Day since it is the first year that I have a baby (not in my belly). Jon was so sweet and stayed up late writing on tons of post its. They all had little messages from either him or Crew, saying why they were grateful for me. It was so thoughtful and sweet!

He also gave me a sweet card and some gummy bears. Yum!
We went to Sacrament meeting at my parent's ward that morning. It was a surprise for my mom and boy was it a success! When she saw all of us she started crying. Everyone wanted to hold Crew so they took turns handing him back and forth so Jon and I didn't even see him until Sacrament meeting was almost over! Ha ha. It was so cute to see Britian interacting with him. He is such a sweetie! He just couldn't stop looking and smiling at him. I tried to sneak a picture, but Britian turned at the last second so this is the best I got.

That night we had a great Skype session with Jon's Mom (It really stinks that they live so far away. Crew hates his car seat and that half hour drive makes him crankier than Scrooge on his worst day). Then we went over to my parents house for some pie.

Being a Mommy is without a doubt the best thing I have ever been blessed to do! It can be tiring sometimes, but I love it! Every day I love my little Crew Bear more and more I think my heart will just burst! I loooooove being able to stay at home and spend all day with him. I am so grateful to my sweet, wonderful husband for working so hard so that I can stay at home to raise our family. I know it can't always be easy, especially while trying to pay for school on top of everything else, but that constant support of me staying at home is so incredibly important to me. I know it's not for all families, but Jon and I both feel strongly that it is right for ours. I feel so accomplished every day by taking care of Crew and yet at the same time I want to try harder and do more because there is still so much he has to learn and know! My job is never done and right now I don't mind that one bit. He really is my little buddy. I feel like we are best friends, and he can't even talk yet! I love it when Jon is holding him, and I walk into the room and he gets this big smile on his face and his legs start kicking up a storm. I can't help but to offer to hold him and when he reaches back to me it just makes me feel so special and so blessed to be his Mommy! I want to work hard every day to strive to deserve this amazing calling of Motherhood that my Heavenly Father has given me.

6 Months

Here we are, almost all the way through May, and I just realized that I forgot to post Crew's 6 month photo!

This little cutie pie still loves to read, and is a master of kung fu fighting (you can tell by all of his kicking of those cute chubby legs). When I took his 6 month picture, he had a rash on his chin because of how much he drools, but it's gotten better. Still no teeth though! He likes snuggling with Mommy, and he looooooves it when Daddy comes home from work! At his 6 month doctors appointment, we learned that in the span of 2 months, he jumped from the 20th percentile to the 85th!!! Cute little chunky monkey!!!

April Photo Dump

Just some pics from last month...

He is scooting and twisting himself all over the place. I laid him down  (first pic) and when I turned back around 1 minute later he had moved!

Little Newsie

Getting more used to the swings

We had an extra cold, blustery day at the beginning of April, complete with snow! But that didn't stop us from taking our daily walk! We just had to be more prepared,

Still doesn't quite know how to jump in it, but he looks cute anyway!

First time in jeans

I love spending all day with him!!

And I love our family forever!!!

Talbot Reunion Part 2: Disneyland

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of our trip we spent at Disneyland. The first day, Crew did pretty well for the morning, but by the time the afternoon came, he was done! I took him to the baby center where it was nice and quiet and secluded to nurse him and give him a nap, but he would not have it and screamed so hard and so loud it was embarrassing and disrupting all of the other babies. I finally had to take him back to the vacation home. Jon and I took turns running back and forth between the vacation home and the parks to try and make the most out of our tickets for the rest of the trip. On Thursday, Crew had a cold so we didn't even bother bringing him to the parks that day. But on Friday, we brought him back for a couple of hours in the afternoon.

His Tigger outfit was a big hit! Everyone stopped and pointed everywhere we went.
Crew's first ride-Dumbo!
Clearly he was not amused.

I'm really suprised by how well Crew did on the rides that he did go on. He didn't complain or get scared at all! He just got tired of waiting in the lines and wanted his schedule and his naps back!

My dad, myself, and Bridger on Splash Mountain. My family was so great at meeting up with either Jon or I (whoever wasn't at the house with the baby) to make sure we had friends to go on rides with.
This turkey leg was HUGE! Jon and I split it for dinner!
Bridger, Brigham, and I at the bugs life show
Bridger, Brigham, Me, Nate, and Jasmine on the cars ride
Jon and Travis on California Screamin. There is no way I would go on that ride so I'm glad Jon found a buddy who loves roller coasters as much as he does!
Our little Mickey Mouse
This is a most unflattering picture of me and what looks like 5 additional chins, but Crew looks cute so I will swallow my pride and post this anyway.

Obviously Crew was too young to enjoy himself this time, but we are really looking forward to when he is older and we get to go again! I can't wait for him to have as much fun as I did (and still do) at Disneyland!

On Saturday we drove home. Crew did much better and took a couple longer naps. Oh, and he loooooves the Mickey Mouse plush that we got him.

Talbot Reunion Part 1:The Beach

The week of April 20-25th my family went on a long awaited (two years of planning) vacation. The first day, Monday, we got up early and drove all the way to Anaheim. We carpooled with my parents because there is no way our car would make that trip. Let me tell you, that many hours in a car with a not quite 6 month old is not easy! The poor baby only took 2 very short half hour naps the entire day! But we survived and were so glad to finally get to the vacation home that we were renting with the rest of the family. The next day we went to the beach. It was Crew's first time, and boy did he hate it! Mostly I think he hated how loud the Ocean was, but all of the constant new surroundings and lack of schedule probably didn't help either. Still, after a while, we got him to calm down and he actually really enjoyed feeling the texture of the sand on his skin.

All things considered, he was a really good sport!
