Weekend with Daddy Part 1

Jon got ahead in his homework for a few days so we got some extra time with him this weekend! This is kind of a big deal for us!!! We spent the whole weekend soaking up every single second that we could get with him. Starting with biking to the park again. We retook the picture of Crew and I in the tree first, then we spent the evening letting Crew slide down slides and play on the swings and he just had the time of his life. From the moment he noticed the playground and we started towards it, he started kicking his legs and reaching towards it with his arms and squealing with delight!

It was such a fun and memorable night. Being together as a family is so important to us!

Just a Few Moments

We had a play date this week with my friend Emily and her daughter, Kyrie. Crew was feeling some stranger danger towards Emily at first, but he warmed up to both her and Kyrie pretty fast.
Starting to climb up stairs! Dun dun dun!!!
I'm slowly easing into getting Crew onto Dairy. This week we gave him soy yogurt. It doesn't have dairy, just soy. HE. IS. OBSESSED. This picture was from the first time I gave it to him. Look at that face! He's like, "Where has this stuff been all my life?!?!?!" In a couple weeks (if he doesn't show any signs of being allergic with soy) we will try dairy yogurt for 2 weeks to see how he reacts.
He found the wipes when Mommy wasn't looking.
Didn't last until nap time.
The many faces of Ramen Noodles. I especially love the mustache ones.
He has been giving us this smile lately whenever the camera comes out. Little cheeser.
Dancing with Papa. He loves it when we go over and my Dad is there!

And some trampoline and giant ball-playing fun
...Even for me. :)
Taken when he was trying to crawl away from me while getting dressed one morning. Look at those adorable little feet! Sometimes you just gotta notice the little things before they disappear.
I have some more photos, mostly from our weekend with Jon, but I'm going to post them in their own separate blog posts. Stay tuned!

Dear Summer, We Miss You Already!!!

It's been a long, cold week and we miss our warm sunshine! I would gladly trade the gloomy clouds and cold for 90 degree weather any day! Crew and I hate feeling all cooped up inside the house. It's lonely and boring. It's going to be a looooong winter! But moving on, here are some pictures from the week:

Crew has been trying a few new foods:
Raspberries

Ramen (this isn't a new food, but a pretty funny picture!)

Peas (okay, this one isn't new either)

Cooked Carrotts

Bananas (okay, this one isn't new either, but he actually likes them now! He didn't before)

Snuggling with Daddy before bedtime

Probably the only perk of the cooling weather is that Crew got some new clothes! He's so cute in anything he wears though.

Whenever I put Crew down and he wants me to hold him, he crawls over to me and sits on my feet. Quite an effective way to get my attention! Ha ha.

Pulling on Cappy's foot. Poor Cat.

Getting so big! We finally put the front of the crib on. Crew was starting to crawl into bed with us. I honestly wouldn't mind snuggling with him in bed, but I don't want to make the transition harder on him later, which is what that would be doing.

Pretty lighting on the mountains one night on an evening walk. I love living near the mountains, but not necessarily near the buildings that block the view...

Crew is such a handful at bath time! He is crawling all over the tub and if we didn't watch him like a hawk he would constantly be dunking his head!

Playing outside with our neighbor, Niyah. Crew loves friends!
When we finally got time to spend with Jon this weekend. we went on a long bike ride down State Street and stopped by Scera park where we let Crew swing on the swings and go down the slide several times. He loved it so much he kept wanting to go again and again. I'm pretty sure he went a total of 50 times! We also found a great climbing tree there and I used Jon's bike to help me climb up and Jon took a picture of Crew and I in the tree on his phone (I didn't bring mine!) even though his is just a cheap little flip phone and tonight he was trying to send it to me and it wasn't letting it send it and while trying a few different things he accidentally locked his phone so now I don't have the picture and Jon doesn't have a phone. Ah, good times. But if Jon ever gets his phone fixed, maybe, just maybe, he can figure out a way to send it to me and then I will post it. Here's hoping for warmer weather this week!

Our Week in Pictures

Brace yourselves, I took a TON of pictures this week! So I'm going to jump right in and not waste any more time.

Monday was Labor Day. We went over to my parent's house for dinner. They made shish kebobs and they were delicious! Crew tried watermelon for the first time and loved it so much, we took some extras home with us. After dinner Jon joined in with Britian, Kannon, Bridger, and Chance for a soccer game. Later, Crew and I joined in. We had so much fun!

Tuesday Crew ate leftover watermelon and made a mess! And later that evening we went to the library. We had lots of extra time since Jon works late on Tuesdays, so we spent some extra time there reading and exploring.

And this is what happens whenever I give him my phone. Baby Selfies!

Wednesday, Crew helped me fold the laundry and we went with Jon to his eye doctor appointment. It's been years since he had a new prescription and he needed one badly.

Watching the fish in the waiting room at the eye doctors

Starting him early! Popular Photography.
Thursday we spent some time over at my parents house. Crew loves that piano of theirs, and I introduced him to the toy train which he thought was a delicious snack!

He also discovered my candy stash. Jackpot!

Oh, and he discovered the guitar.

On Friday we went up to Albion Basin (up Little Cottonwood Canyon) for family pictures. I am nervous to see how they turn out! Crew was not smiling very much for the photographer. It was GORGEOUS up there, though! And I wish that we could have stayed longer and explored more, but it was close to Crew's bedtime by the time we finished and he was making sure with all his fussing that we didn't forget about it so we will have to go back another time. I did take a few pictures on our way home, but they don't do it justice.

On Saturday Jon went to work until the evening. At lunchtime, Crew made the biggest Ramen noodle mess any baby has ever made before! Jon's parent's also came down for a visit when Jon got home and it was nice to talk with them, but I didn't get any pictures of that.

I also caught this cute video of Crew and Papa on Saturday night.

We also hiked up to Battle Creek Falls. This was Crew's first time going. We borrowed a hiking baby carrier from my sister to try out with Crew and he did NOT like it. I think part of it was because he was tired, but he screamed and cried and made such a scene and wouldn't stop so we eventually just took him out and I carried him the whole way. Little stinker. Like I said, he was still tired, so he doesn't look very happy in the pictures. Especially the family selfies. Oh well. It was so pretty up there and there was a beautiful sunset so I took lots of other pictures too. I wish I had brought my nice camera! I'll have to remember it for next time.

And that was our week!
