We have been married for 1 whole year! After Jon and I got married, we had to get back to work pretty soon; so we were only able to go to Salt Lake for a couple of days after our wedding. We decided to do it again a year later! So we went up to Salt Lake for the weekend. We feel so silly going to a place that is only an hour away that we have both grown up so near to, but it's a changing city so there is always new things to see, and the old stuff doesn't really get old!
The view from our hotel room. We stayed on the tenth floor-Room 1023. We had a beautiful view of the temple and the city center.
The view at night. So pretty!
We had planned to go find the City Creek Park that we had heard so much about, so we walked in the cold for several blocks but we couldn't find it! Instead, we accidently happened upon the Capitol Building--just in time to see the sunset.
Us in front of the Capitol Building. Happy 1 year anniversary to us!
On Sunday we went to the conference center and got our own personal tour of the building. The lady who gave us the tour was hilarious, and kept giving us facts that the other tourists usually don't get to hear. It was weird to see the conference center completely empty. The only times we have been there was during general conference, devotionals, or concerts.

Did you know that the distance between where we stood to take this picture, and the pulpit is the distance of a football stadium?
Kind of blurry, but this was at the Assembly Hall on Temple Square. Jon thought it would be hilarious to take this picture. He said, "Whoever had to sit in that sit must have been so uncomfortable for the entire meeting!"
A little dark, but this was the only picture we got in front of the temple. Jon's eyes are closed. :(
Overall we had a fun weekend just relaxing, sleeping in, seeing movies, and touring around SLC. And there were even things that we didn't get done that we had planned to do so I guess we will just have to come back next year! ;)
When we got back we each had a slice of the top of our wedding cake that had been frozen for the past year. It was still just as yummy as when we smashed it into each other's faces on our wedding day!
1 year down, eternity to go!

Ha, ha... I pity the person who has to sit in that spot.
