Yep, that looks pretty positive to me!
And just in case there was any doubt...
Getting excited!

And then week 6 hit and I this is mostly what I saw all day, every day for the next 2 months...

And the first picture at 8 weeks! There really is something in there!
We really had fun telling our family and friends the good news. I already happened to be texting my best friend, Emilee the night that I found out and then we just had to tell Julie right away so they knew first, followed by my sister Lacee who I told over text. But after that, we wanted to try and be creative with how we told most everyone else several weeks later:
Parents: As shown in the previous post, we told our parents by tricking them into taking a picture with us. We actually told them that we needed a picture of each of us with our parents for a primary lesson we were teaching (Jon and I teach the Sunbeams) on families. Their reactions were pretty funny. I love how my dad kind of got it immediately. I love the look on his face the second after Jon says, "Say, 'Caitlyn's pregnant!'" It's hilarious. He doesn't say it, he just has this "wait a second..." look that is so funny to me. I love that my mom thought Jon was just being inconsiderate by saying something like that. And I love how Jon's dad didn't say anything the entire time after Jon confirmed that we really meant it. He just stands there, looking back and forth between me and Jon, all confused. It's also pretty funny that Jon's mom asked Jon like 3 times if he really meant it. Too funny!
My family:
Lacee and Travis: My sister Lacee was the first person in my family to know, even before my parents, and she was super helpful in answering a lot of my questions at the beginning. I just told her over text, in the midst of the million questions I had for her a few days after I found out.
Bridger: Then I told my little brother Bridger one day at work because he knew I was feeling sick and I didn't want him to think it was anything contagious. He was super excited, but I told him not to say anything so he silently clapped his hands together and bounced up and down in his chair, trying not to draw attention from our other coworkers who still didn't know yet.
Brigham: My youngest brother Brigham was the next to know. I was over at my parent's house one day and my mom was asking how I was feeling. Brigham, mostly as a joke, asked if I was pregnant and I said "Yes!" and went back to laying on the couch. Brigham laughed and went on with whatever he was doing. Then I said, "Don't tell anyone, though." and he looked up, from me to my mom, and said, "Wait, for reals?" and he asked that like 6 times before he finally believed it.
Danielle and Bret: We went up to the Women's Expo in Sandy one Saturday and my oldest sister Danielle was running a booth there. Dani lives in Ogden so I rarely get to see her so I took the opportunity there to tell her. She was really excited and gave me a big hug. She was especially excited because the baby is due one day before her little boy's birthday.
Jasmine: I told Jasmine that same day shortly after we returned from the expo. She and I were alone, talking about our nephews and niece and I just said, "Speaking of babies...." and her eyes got really wide and she sat up and smiled all big and said, "Really?!?!"
Sessely and Chance: I can't remember if it was that same night, or maybe a day or two later that we told Sessely. We were over at my parents house again and I pulled Britian into another room and told him to go back out to the living room and say, "Mommy and Daddy, Jonny and Caitlyn are going to have a baby!" I said it for him a couple times and he said "Okay!" All confident. But I think since he had been playing with Jon he was mostly just eager to get back to whatever they had been doing before I pulled him into another room so when he came back into the living room he quickly just said, "Mommy, Daddy, Jon's going to have a baby!" and then promptly went back to playing with Jon. Chance just busted up laughing, thinking he had just said that for no reason. And, well, the rest is in the video. It was pretty classic. I also love that at the very end of the video, Jon has to clarify by telling Britian, "I'M not going to have a baby!"
Jon's family:
Kirk and Laura: Kirk and Laura were the first of Jon's family to know. We stopped by their house one evening and just said, "Guess what!" And Laura guessed it right away. Ha ha ha.
Scott: Scott found out at the same time as Jon's parents, and since he was there, I just asked him to be in the picture too. I love how his eyebrows shoot up way high and he just says, "WOW!"
Michelle: After we told Jon's parent's we had to wait for a while before Michelle got home so we could tell her. Jon and I always laugh when we remember telling her because she had JUST gotten home from a long shift at work and she was super tired and hadn't eaten dinner yet so she just walked straight past everyone and to the kitchen, looking confused that we were all sitting there waiting for her. Then when finally did come back, we had to point out this little message that we had left on the table for her with an arrow pointing to me (and Jon).
After seeing that, she understood and she seemed pretty excited!
Matt: We really wanted to tell Matt in person like we had with everyone else, but he was up in Ogden going to school and he is super busy working on a play so we didn't know when would be a good time to call him so we finally just had to text him. I just sent him the video of us telling his parents and this was his response to me:
He actually texted Jon back first and I wish I could get a screen shot from Jon's phone because he was freaking out with excitement in that first one. It was pretty great!
So that is how we told our families, and that is really what has been happening the last few months. Jon and I were able to be excited for the first 3 weeks after we found out and then I got really sick. It got so bad that I had to cut way back on my hours at work and I honestly kept forgetting that I was pregnant after that because it just felt like I had the stomach flu....and it never went away! Then things finally started to calm down again (thank heavens for modern medicine!!!) and we started getting excited again. Now things are going much better, I am starting to work more and more hours again and I actually feel well enough to go out more instead of laying in bed or on the couch all the time.
Sorry for the long post, but I had a lot to catch up on!
