Phone Pictures

I've decided that I am going to start posting some of the pictures I take with my phone. It will keep me blogging more about the things that we are up to, even if it isn't about big stuff. And I need to be better at keeping our family record! I already started with my last blog post, as you might have noticed. I uploaded them onto the blog directly from my phone. Obviously doing that makes them extra big so you will just have to ignore how big those ones are because I don't want to go back and upload them all again. So here we go:

Jon and I went up to Riverton the other day to do laundry (our washer is broken) and visit the family. We drove up just as the sun was setting and, as usual, it was BEAUTIFUL!

Yes, I know this is a horrid picture of me, but Jon looks hilarious and adorable in this picture so I just had to share it.

Tonight we were both off from work so we went out and enjoyed a lovely spring evening rollerblading.

( No, I don't have the abnormally large midsection that my shadow would depict in this picture. I was twisting around in an awkward position to take this picture of Jon.)

I have been rollerblading all my life, and I love it! Some summers I would roller blade every single day. I love going as fast as I can and attempting to do little tricks. I didn't even stop after I tripped on the hose while rollerblading once and landed on my face and bled everywhere several years ago (To my family: no wise cracks about how my face looked--Ha ha). Jon is still trying to catch up to my speed but he is doing better every time we go! I'm so proud of him.

Jon trying to adjust the camera so you can see our faces AND the roller blades and me looking all sweaty. This is not the best blog post for decent pictures of me...

Us on our roller blades. YAY US!

Happy springtime!

It has been a very busy last couple of months so this weekend we took a little break by going on a walk and enjoying a beautiful spring sunset!

We enjoyed it so much and we can't wait to spend more time in the warming weather.

Jon's New Toy

Well we finally did it! After talking about it for over a year, doing a lot of research, lots of thinking, and then even more talking, we finally went out and bought a scooter. This is mostly just for Jon to take to work, but we are still really excited about it! Especially Jon. He is absolutely beside himself with excitement. He loves it! He came in from riding it around for the first time with this big smile on his face, saying, "That was so much fun!" I'm so glad that he loves it, but I make him promise me everyday that he is going to be so safe and careful.

Doesn't he look good on a scooter? I sure think so!

Togo the Turtle

For those of you who don't know, I'm obsessed with Turtles. They have been my favorite animal since Junior High and I don't think that is ever going to change. Big turtles, small turtles, tortoises and sea turtles, you name it. If it is a turtle, I'm in love with it. When I was 16 and got my first job at Coney's Frozen Custard in Orem, my coworkers and I came up with a little inside joke. One day one of my coworkers wrote "To Go" on an order, and circled it with lines coming out to emphasize the importance of it. Well, he wrote the two words close together so it looked like "Togo" and the circle with the lines looked like a turtle. I don't remember exactly how, but we eventually came to the conclusion that "Togo the Turtle" was the unofficial mascot of Coneys. One thing let to another and from then on my coworkers and friends decided that any turtle we saw was always secretly named Togo.

When Jon and I started dating, it didn't take him long to discover my obsession with turtles. When we got married, he promised me that one day he would get me my very own turtle. And when I say "one day," I mean that Jon and I were thinking like 10 years from now.

Well, a couple weeks ago I got a text from my sister saying that she found a guy who was selling baby turtles for really cheap. I called Jon and told him about it, and by the end of that night we had a new member of the family.

Meet Togo!

These pictures were taken a couple days after we got him. Since then, he has gotten a little darker in color.

Here is a video of him eating. And yes, there are a lot of floaties. He doesn't eat with his mouth closed.
Ha ha ha.

Isn't he awesome???
