Hiking Squaw Peak

This past Monday we both had the day off, so we decided that it would be fun to hike Squaw Peak. We got to the trail head around 11 am, and we didn't get back until 5 pm. It was really long and really steep, and we were feeling SO dead by the end. The last stretch seemed awful, like it was never going to end. At one point, Jon even said, "I may not be able to carry the ring, Mr. Frodo--but I can carry you!!" and then reached out to pick me up. I laughed so hard but I didn't let him carry me. I had to finish it! And it was worth it because now we can actually say we were able to do it!

Jon had Scooter-wind hair when we got there

We saw so many snakes! They kept slithering right in front of us and freaking me out!
This bird tried to attack us. Some of her babies were wandering on the trail and I guess we got too close. She came charging!
The halfway point!

There is a flag at the top. We had no idea!
Getting close to the edge at the top. WE MADE IT!
TADA!!
Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich's to reward ourselves for making it.
So impressed with ourselves

We used this hiking app on my phone to show where we were the whole time.  The red pin is actually the halfway mark. We actually started down by the white road towards the bottom left. The blue dot is where we were at the top.

There are a lot of initials and names and dates carved into the rocks at the top. We decided to leave our mark behind too:
