The youngest of all 7 siblings in my family has had a very busy past few months! Brigham graduated from high school in May, received his mission call in June, and left on his mission on July 15th. On Sunday, (June 7th I believe) our family (and a few of his friends) gathered together to see Brigham open his mission call. He was called the the California, Carlsbad mission, English speaking.
3 days before he left I went down to the Provo Temple with him and shot a few quick pictures.
The night before he left, Jon went to the stake center (while I stayed home with a sleeping Crew) and helped set him apart as a missionary. I am really upset that I didn't get to go to that, but I am glad Jon was able to go and to say goodbye. The next day I went over and got to be there when he left. He had a good neighbor and friend of the family drive him to the MTC so he could say goodbye to our family at the house and better prepare himself on the drive down there which I thought was a brilliant idea.
I am so proud of this little guy and the choice he has made to serve a 2 year LDS mission. I know he is going to be such a blessing to the people in the Carlsbad mission and that he will bless so many lives, both in California, and here with our family in Utah. I can't believe that the baby of the family is all grown up! It makes me feel super old. I swear it wasn't that long ago that all 7 of us kids were still at home, playing in the backyard, fighting over the nintendo, and loving our lives together as a family. I am so grateful that even though we won't see each other all the time, and we don't live together anymore, my family is still going to be together forever and ever no matter what! I am so grateful for the plan of salvation because that means I get to be stuck with my crazy siblings for eternity, and they are stuck with me whether they like it or not! ;) Good luck, Elder Talbot! See you in 2 years!!
